Neochim PLC has concluded the pre-registration procedure, as a producer and importer of chemical substances, in accordance with the requirements of the European regulation REACH. All of the substances produced and imported by the company that are of importance for its future operations were preregistered.

The European regulations concerning registration, evaluation, assessment, authorization and limitation of chemical substances and preparations (REACH), entered into force on June 1st 2007. It obliged all producers and importers of chemical substances in the EU to perform registration of each chemical substance with quantity of over one tone per year that is not a subject to a different regulation.

The registration itself will be performed on stages over time. In order to be able to take advantage of the transitional stages, each producer or importer from the EU had to complete a pre-registration until December 1st year 2008. This however does not apply to medicine and food producers and importers, since they are subject to separate European legislation.

The main goals of the REACH regulations are to ensure a high level of protection of human health and the environment from the use of chemical substances and to guarantee easy distribution within the European market.
